Take Aim, Hit the Target and Make a Splash!
The appeal of a traditional dunk tank is simple. A volunteer takes their place on the dunking seat while participants attempt to hit the target. When the target is successfully activated, the seated volunteer drops into the water below.
It's an activity that can draw a crowd, especially when the person waiting to be dunked is a familiar face from the school, workplace or local community.
- Classic carnival entertainment: A recognizable attraction that fits naturally into fairs, festivals and fundraising events.
- Interactive target challenge: Participants can test their aim and try to activate the dunking mechanism.
- Great for willing volunteers: Teachers, coaches, managers and other eligible participants can take turns in the dunking seat.
- Summer entertainment: The water-filled attraction is particularly appealing during warmer Texas weather.
- Fundraising potential: Organizers can incorporate paid attempts or sponsored challenges into their fundraising plans.
- Flexible event use: Suitable for a variety of outdoor celebrations where the venue and operating arrangements meet the equipment requirements.
All participants and dunking-seat volunteers must follow the equipment's operating instructions, eligibility restrictions and supervision requirements.
Dunk Tank Fundraisers for Schools, Churches and Sports Teams
One of the most popular ways to use a dunk tank is as part of a fundraiser. The attraction provides an activity that spectators can enjoy while supporting a school, club or community organization.
For example, a school could invite eligible teachers or staff members to volunteer for a dunking challenge. Participants could make a donation for an opportunity to hit the target, with the event organizer determining the fundraising arrangements.
Other ideas include:
- School carnivals: Include a dunk tank challenge alongside games, refreshments and inflatable attractions.
- Sports club fundraisers: Invite eligible coaches or adult volunteers to take part in a team fundraising event.
- Church festivals: Create an interactive activity for a community celebration.
- Charity events: Incorporate target-throwing attempts into a wider fundraising program.
- End-of-year school celebrations: Add a traditional carnival attraction to a field day or outdoor festival.
For larger school events, explore our school event rentals, including inflatable entertainment and activities that can complement your dunk tank.
Put the Boss in the Dunk Tank!
A dunk tank can be particularly entertaining at company picnics and staff family days when a willing manager or team leader volunteers to take the plunge.
Organizers can arrange a friendly target challenge, invite staff to participate and use the activity as part of a wider outdoor celebration.
For events with families attending, consider including additional attractions such as Mini Golf, face painting or bounce houses.
Our event services and tables and chairs can also help you plan other elements of the occasion.
A Classic Carnival Attraction for Texas Summer Events
Dunk tanks have been a familiar feature at carnivals and fairs for generations. The combination of target throwing, anticipation and a sudden splash makes them a natural fit for outdoor summer celebrations.

What Do You Need for a Dunk Tank Rental?
Unlike a conventional party game, a dunk tank requires a suitable outdoor setup area, water supply and appropriate operating arrangements. Checking these details before booking will help you determine whether your venue can accommodate the attraction.
Water Supply and Filling the Dunk Tank
A dunk tank needs to be filled with water before it can be used. Confirm that a suitable water supply is available at your event location and discuss filling requirements with KBC Kidz before your booking.
Because dunk tanks hold a substantial amount of water, you'll also need to consider how the tank will be emptied and where the water can be discharged after the event.
Level Ground and Clear Access
The dunk tank must be positioned on a firm, stable and level surface suitable for supporting the equipment and the weight of the water.
Make sure there is enough space for the tank, target-throwing area, participants and any required safety clearances. Access to the setup location should also be checked in advance.
Supervision and Participant Requirements
The dunk tank must be operated according to its specific safety instructions. The person seated above the water must meet the equipment's applicable requirements, and the throwing area should be controlled to prevent unsafe use.
Do not assume that the dunking seat is suitable for every age group. Confirm the volunteer eligibility requirements, operating procedures and supervision arrangements before the event.
If you're planning to use the dunk tank at a school, park, church or managed venue, check that the property owner permits the attraction.
